ESPOCH opens the CDC Yankay capacity building center as part of the Eentitle project

In a solemn ceremony attended by prominent national and academic authorities, the Chimborazo Polytechnic School officially inaugurated the CDC YANKAY Capacity Development Center, an initiative that is part of the EENTITLE project, aimed at strengthening the pedagogical and didactic training of engineering teachers in the country.

During the event, two new fully equipped rooms were presented, located in the Faculty of Computer Science and Electronics (FIE) and in the central building, both designed to promote the continuous professional development of the teaching staff and consolidate a national network of centers that contribute to improving the quality of technical and technological higher education in Ecuador.

The rooms stand out for their state-of-the-art technological equipment:

·         Sennheiser ceiling microphones, renowned for their digital audio quality.

·         Interactive screens with Android and Windows operating systems that enable dynamic collaboration.

·         Video conferencing camera with speaker tracking, which improves remote interaction.

·         Sound amplification system, which guarantees a harmonious and professional environment for the sessions.

The event was attended by prominent authorities, including Carmita Álvarez, Ph.D., Acting President of the CES, César Vásquez, Mgs., Secretary of SENESCYT, Dr. José Carlos Quadrado, President of ENAEE, and Mishell Mancheno, First Vice President of the National Assembly, as well as the rectors of the country’s universities, deans, and members of the polytechnic council, who were also present, some virtually from the room. Jenny Basantes, Ph.D., Academic Vice-Rector, welcomed everyone to the event, highlighting ESPOCH’s commitment to educational quality and the professional development of its teachers. She emphasized that the YANKAY CDC represents a fundamental step toward pedagogical innovation and continuous improvement in engineering education. She also thanked the national and international partners who made this project possible.

“This center is not only a modern infrastructure, but also a symbol of our institutional vision: to train competent professionals in a dynamic, collaborative, and technologically advanced academic environment,” she said.

Dr. Quadrado highlighted the role that international accreditation plays in ensuring the quality of higher education. He congratulated ESPOCH on the YANKAY CDC initiative, noting that such projects consolidate Ecuadorian universities within the global technical higher education system.

The Secretary of Higher Education highlighted the relevance of the YANKAY CDC as part of a national strategy to transform technical and technological education. He indicated that SENESCYT will continue to support these spaces that promote innovation, inclusion, and the strengthening of human talent.

The Rector of ESPOCH closed the series of speeches by highlighting the importance of the YANKAY CDC within the institutional management model. He thanked all those involved, from national authorities to the technical and teaching teams that participated in the implementation of the project.

“This center is part of a strategic vision to make ESPOCH a national benchmark in educational innovation. Here, teachers will be trained with new pedagogical tools, ready to transform engineering education throughout the country,” he emphasized.

Finally, the rector invited everyone to continue working in a coordinated manner between institutions to multiply this type of initiative in other regions of Ecuador.
