Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral encourages its professors to obtain the international iPER certification

With the aim of raising awareness about the ETALENT project (Ecuadorian Tertiary Educators Transformation And Learning EnhaNcemenT) and the iPER (International Professional Educator Registered) certification, Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral held an informational session on these topics on Wednesday, April 15. The event was attended by 258 professors from the faculties of Social and Humanistic Sciences, Life Sciences, and Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication.

ETALENT is a project supported by Erasmus+, the European Union’s program, which aims, among other goals, to strengthen the role of educators in innovation and institutional transformation processes.

iPER is the only professional registry globally recognized by the United Nations and the International Labour Organization through its International Standard Classification of Occupations.

This certification establishes international standards for higher education educators — ensuring pedagogical excellence — and promotes continuous improvement through an evidence-based assessment process and international peer review.

During the informational session, Margarita Ortiz, Director of the Educational Research and Services Center at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, explained that the benefits available to those who obtain the iPER certification include professional growth opportunities, international recognition, and a certification verifiable through blockchain technology.

iPER is a certification granted by ENTER, an international organization founded in 2021 with the purpose of enhancing the professional competencies of higher education educators through a globally recognized registration and certification process.
